The Daily News Wire:

The Kingston-Belleville FC Pro Soccer Academy is pleased to announce that it has now obtained official ORNCA accreditation from the Ontario Soccer Association, becoming the only OSA-recognized Soccer Training Academy in Kingston and Belleville. The Club’s Academy, which proudly became Ontario’s 22nd ORNCA accredited academy following an OSA Board decision last week, had been involved in a rigorous OSA standards-based accreditation approval process for the past several months.

Mike Akai, a senior staff member of the Kingston-Belleville FC Pro Soccer Academy was elated upon hearing of the OSA’s decision, and promised that the Academy would provide a full slate of elite level youth training programs for fall and winter, and for players of all ages. “This is the development that we at Kingston FC have been waiting for to really kick-start elite level training for youth players in this region,” said Mr. Akai. “Now that we are OSA-approved, we expect that youth players at every youth minor soccer club in Kingston, Belleville and the region will want to participate in our programs to enhance their skills and work with pro players and coaches.”

Earlier in 2015, Kingston FC announced that it would combine the soccer development training offered in the past by both the Kingston FC Pro Soccer Academy and the Kingston City Soccer Academy, and expand its training programs to Belleville, in order to offer pro style training for players up to the age of 21, beginning with first touch programs for youngsters 5 years and up.

The training sessions will be led by Kingston FC coaches and other Academy staffers, including a number of Kingston FC players who have settled in Kingston and are awaiting the 2016 League1 Ontario season.

Check out The Academy section of this website for more information and documentation on the Kingston-Belleville FC Pro Soccer Academy, and stay tuned to our website and other social media for a full roster of our Academy youth soccer training programs in both Kingston and Belleville beginning in the Fall of 2015!

All of us at Kingston FC are deeply saddened by the news of the death of Joe Scanlon, part-owner and president of the Club and a friend and supporter of pro and amateur sports in Canada. Joe passed away on Saturday, May 2nd of an apparent heart attack. Joe was instrumental to the success of Kingston FC and greatly enjoyed his role and involvement with the team. One of Canada’s great journalism teachers and newspaper reporters, and an international expert in emergency communications, Joe will be sadly missed by all who knew him, and by all of us at Kingston FC. Sincere condolences to his family and to his partner, Kathleen.
